In The Area

Take to the trails, ride the rivers, and see the sights in an area with mountain-sized natural beauty.

A Season of Fun in a Single Trip

When it comes to adventure, our nearby points of interest map lights up like the Christmas trees downtown. And while we’re known as a winter wonderland, if you visit only for the mistletoe, you’re mistle-ing out on half the fun. Experience the gorgeous, multi-color spectacle of spring in the alpine hills. Take to the trails and rivers under sunny summer skies. Or, stand arm in arm with a swaying crowd singing songs and raising steins of beer at Oktoberfest and see Leavenworth at its Bavarian best. No matter what time of year you visit, and no matter what street you walk down, adventure is right around the corner.

Animal Encounters & Farms

From winter sleigh rides to summer horseback rides, we invite you to take the reins of your Leavenworth vacation and spend some time with our four-legged friends nearby. Enjoy a happy afternoon with the local fauna at any one of the several locations listed below.

Beer, Wine, & Spirits Tasting

Let’s be honest: the first boozy beverage you thought of when planning a German village vacation was beer. And you’d be right to think so; Leavenworth is a beer fan’s paradise. But steins of ice-cold brews aren’t the only drink we’re serving up. Our mountain town features several of the region’s finest distilleries, and it sits right on the Northwest border of Washington Wine Country, one of America’s finest designated Viticultural Areas.

Downtown Attractions

Experience the heart of it all in downtown Leavenworth, where every quaint, colorful building represents a new opportunity for discovery. Across the street, the town square park turns into a Christmas wonderland every December that has been the cornerstone of countless Christmas memories. If you’ve seen Leavenworth on a postcard or a Pinterest post, chances are it was right here in downtown.

Education & Entertainment

The North Cascades has inspired countless artists, including painters, writers, sculptors, and more. Experience their unique translations of the area’s incredible natural beauty at any one of several nearby museums, theaters, and art centers.

Festivals

Do you like your festivals with a bit less thumping electronic music and endless lines for parking? Welcome home. Leavenworth has a fun, family-friendly festival to commemorate every season and multiple occasions in between. Just like the best beer this side of Bavaria, a great celebration is always on tap around here.

Golf

Golf was invented in the highlands of Scotland, and so naturally we have a few mountain courses of our own. If you feel like trading link sausage for a links course, check out any one of several golfing opportunities nearby (and we’re pretty sure that the light mountain air adds at least a few yards to your drive. Just saying.).

The Great Outdoors

Leavenworth is an outdoor adventurer’s paradise, and the surrounding Cascade Mountains provide virtually unlimited opportunities to take your vacation to new heights. Choose hiking and leave tracks on a trail, or choose a roller coaster and follow the trail of a track. Experience local rivers by paddleboard, raft, kayak, or inner tube. Or, if winter is your jam, take to the powder by ski, sled, or snowmobile. When it comes to choosing your outdoor adventure, the only wrong answer is a roof and four walls.

Travel & Transportation

When it comes to getting around, we’ve got you all squared away. Leavenworth Shuttle and Taxi is a fantastic option for group transportation or direct taxi service to the greater Leavenworth area, especially during the busier times of year when parking is limited. If you choose to travel in your own vehicle, please be sure to check WSDOT for conditions updates on Stevens Pass, Blewett Pass, and Snoqualmie Pass.
